Refund & Cancellation Policy
How refunds and cancellations work for clients in the United Kingdom. Please read this policy before placing an order or making a payment.
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy applies to services provided by Desverso LLC, a limited liability company registered in the State of Washington, USA, with its head office at 2135 112th Ave NE, Suite 201, Bellevue, WA 98004, USA (“Desverso”, “we”, “us”) to clients in the United Kingdom. Our work is bespoke and labour-intensive from the moment a project begins, so refunds are limited as set out below.
Sections 1 to 7 apply to all clients. Section 8 explains the additional rights consumers have under UK law; where it gives a consumer more than sections 1 to 7, section 8 applies. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are buying as a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 give you rights that this policy cannot remove. Citizens Advice (citizensadvice.org.uk) can explain them.
1. Eligibility for Refunds
Refunds are available only in limited circumstances. A client may qualify for a refund only if all of the following conditions are met:
- No final design, development or deliverable has been presented or approved.
- No revision has been requested or implemented.
- The refund request is made in writing within 5 business days of project payment or initiation.
- The project has not entered a strategy, research, wireframing or planning phase.
- The client has not materially breached our Terms of Use, any NDA, or the agreed payment terms.
Once work has been started, presented or revised, the amount paid covers that work and is not refundable, except as set out in section 8 for consumers.
2. Non-Refundable Services
Because they involve costs we pay to others or work that cannot be undone, the following are not refundable once started:
- Domain registration, DNS setup, hosting (shared, VPS or dedicated) and email configuration.
- Book publishing services (ISBN registration, layout formatting, print-on-demand, marketing setup).
- SEO campaign work already carried out (on-page and off-page work, keyword mapping, reporting).
- Social media and paid advertising campaigns, including ad spend paid to platforms.
- Mobile app or software development beyond the UI/UX design phase.
- Third-party tools, plugins, licences or services bought on your behalf.
3. Cancellation
You may cancel a project at any time by emailing info@desverso.com with your name, invoice number and project name. We will confirm receipt in writing.
- Work completed to date is payable: if you cancel after work has begun, you pay for the work carried out and milestones reached up to the date you cancel.
- Business clients: deposits reserve our team’s time and cover onboarding and planning, and are not refundable. If a project is cancelled before kickoff for reasons unrelated to our service, a 33% administrative fee is deducted from any refund due.
- Monthly or retainer services (for example marketing, SEO or maintenance) can be cancelled with at least 14 days’ written notice before the next billing date; the current period is not refunded and the service continues until it ends.
- We may suspend or end a project for non-payment, material breach of our terms, or abusive conduct. Work already carried out remains payable.
4. Bundles and Packages
For multi-service packages, a refund may be considered only for a component that has not been started, provided the conditions in section 1 are met for that component. Completed components are not refunded. Any partial refund is confirmed in writing by Desverso management.
5. How Refunds Are Paid
- Approved refunds are paid to the original payment method.
- Business clients: refunds are processed within 7 to 14 business days of approval.
- Consumers: refunds are paid without undue delay and within 14 days of the day we agree you are entitled to one.
6. Use of Work After a Refund
If you receive a refund for work, the drafts, designs, code and other materials covered by that refund remain our property, and you may not use, share, modify or distribute them. Unauthorised use may infringe our rights under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.
7. Agencies, Resellers and Subcontracted Work
Refunds are not offered to agencies outsourcing work to us for their own clients, to freelancers reselling our services under a white label, or to resellers and brokers.
8. Your Rights as a Consumer
If you are a consumer and you enter into the contract online, by phone or by email without meeting us, UK law gives you the following rights in addition to this policy:
- Cancellation period: you can cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason, by telling us clearly (an email to info@desverso.com is enough).
- If you ask us to start work within those 14 days and then cancel, you pay for the work carried out up to the time you tell us you are cancelling, in proportion to the full service. If the service has been fully performed within the 14 days at your request, the right to cancel no longer applies.
- Deposits and the administrative fee in section 3 are not charged to consumers beyond the proportionate cost of work actually carried out and costs we have already incurred on your behalf.
- Our services must be provided with reasonable care and skill. If they are not, you are entitled to ask us to repeat or fix the work, and if we cannot do that within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience to you, to a price reduction, which may be a full refund.
Nothing in this policy limits these rights.
9. Payment Disputes
Please contact us first if you have a concern, so we have a fair opportunity to put it right. This does not stop you from contacting your bank or card provider, or from using any other legal route available to you.
10. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in force when you accepted your quote applies to your project.
